Many believe this refreshingly different cocktail originated in the early 1860’s in Tequila, Mexico and was named after a popular folk song named La Paloma or “The Dove”. The Paloma is full of sweet, sour and salty goodness. Plus it has bubbles. And tequila. Seriously, what’s not to love?
— 7.5mL (¼ shot) agave syrup
— 10mL lime juice
— 20mL pink grapefruit juice
— 45mL blanco Tequila
— 90–120mL pink grapefruit soda
— Pink salt
— Ice cubes
— Grapefruit wedge or lime to garnish
1 — Salt the rim of a glass
2 — Fill glass with ice cubes
3 — Add agave syrup, lime juice, pink grapefruit juice and blanco Tequila to a cocktail shaker
4 — Add ice, then shake shake shake but only briefly
5 — Strain into the glass and top with grapefruit soda
6 — Add ice and garnish
7 — Drink!
